Emergency responders stick together!
A volunteer fire department in Tennessee lost their department after the recent hurricane washed away their building. So the Van Buren County Rescue Squad in Choctaw, Arkansas donated one of their fire trucks by getting in touch with the local fundraisers at the Ozark Moonshine and Music Festival in Clinton, Arkansas.
Now the struggling Tennessee Fire Department has a new fire truck! A local scout group is also donating equipment to go along with the new fire truck as well.
Huge Act Of Kindness in Clinton, Arkansas
It happened at the Ozark Moonshine and Music Festival at the Van Buren County Fairground on Friday.
“Moonshine Militia” members Mark Morgan (also known as “Uncle Moonshine”) and Damon Beaty were raising funds for hurricane disaster relief.
“Uncle Moonshine” Mark Morgan says that they got a fire truck given to them by the Van Buren County Rescue Squad:
“The guys here, in Van Buren, gave us the truck, got in contact with the fire marshal or chief in Tennessee…. and found a fire house that got completely washed away. A volunteer fire department. Everything they have is gone. Completely gone.”
They made sure the donated fire truck would get into the hands of the volunteer fire department so they could continue doing their job saving lives.
Damon Beaty said he was crying when he found out:
“I was crying earlier when I found this stuff out. People are coming out of the woodwork. Imagine how many lives are going to be saved because of this fire truck. Because of this equipment.”
