Harrison Police Department is issuing a warning to citizens to lock their vehicles and hide their processions in the car.
The warning comes after a series of reported car break-ins in the area were reported recently. Police say not to leave personal items out in your car to “bait” potential criminals. The word of the day is caution.
Harrison Police Issue Guidance Amid Break-In Concerns
As holiday season fast approaches, the Harrison Police Department says to keep your processions hidden in your car to avoid crimes. Don’t leave “bait” for criminals:
“Don’t leave any bait out for thieves; stow your electronics, holiday shopping and other items well out of sight, or better yet bring it with you. The evidence alone might be enough to pique the interest of thieves, so hide that too, like power plugs and adapters.”
The new guidance comes after Harrison Police confirmed a series of break-ins in the area targeting car owners:
The thefts in cars took place between October 19 and 20, 2024.
Victims are urged to get in touch with Corporal Hill by calling the Harrison Police Department at (870) 741-5463.
