Once completed, efforts will shift to the northern part of the project. Work so far includes demolishing old road surfaces, relocating utilities, and laying new drainage systems.

The Searcy City Council recently approved $750,000 for road and sidewalk repairs. This funding comes on top of last year’s investment in sidewalk expansions.

City Engineer Mark Lane has detailed that 25 streets are slated for upgrades, involving milling and overlaying. Additionally, plans are underway to expand Sawmill Road near Beebe-Capps Expressway to three lanes, enhancing local traffic flow and drainage.
