Conway School Board member Linda Hargis was arrested for drunk driving in Cabot, as revealed in a police video where she admitted to consuming alcohol. During her interaction with the police, Hargis disclosed her position on the school board and inquired about the officer’s political views.
The video, released by the Cabot Police Department, was made public following a request under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. In the footage, Hargis is seen counting her drinks, emphasizing that she is not a habitual drinker.
While in custody, Hargis expressed discomfort with the handcuffs and mentioned her participation in a Senior Olympics pickleball tournament earlier that day. She explained that she was returning from a dance at a VFW in Beebe, intending to play pickleball again the next day.
Hargis also noted that her husband, present at the scene, had not consumed any alcohol, highlighting her own consumption as an anomaly rather than a norm.
