Fort Smith attorney Joey McCutchen is raising concerns about what he calls the “Fort Smith Manifestos,” a series of proposed initiatives and policies by Fort Smith city leadership.
McCutchen warns that these plans could dramatically alter the city’s culture overnight, drawing a parallel to Vice President Kamala Harris’s approach to illegal immigration as border czar.
“What’s happening in downtown Fort Smith is just a microcosm of what’s happening on national stage. But, all politics are local. If they can pass this in a city like Fort Smith or Searcy, or Claremore, Ok. — where they’re fighting it now — they can pass it anywhere. So, we become a new nation with new values and new principles, governed by equity, diversity and inclusion.”
