The Fairfield Bay Rotary Club had a special guest speaker on Wednesday morning.

Executive Director of Arkansas Right To Life, Rose Mimms, gave an informational talk highlighting the importance of safe-haven “baby boxes” being set up across the state to protect children that need to be surrendered to the state.

Mimms also gave a warning about the ethical dangers of euthanasia laws and how it could lead to tragic side effects for society. The talk started at 11:30 at Little Red restaurant.

Baby Drop-Off Boxes

Mimms began her talk by referencing the numerous baby “drop-off boxes” placed across Arkansas.

In 2019, special boxes were set up to allow distressed and often single parents to give up custody of their children without facing legal charges.

As of right now, there are 25 drop-off locations across the state of Arkansas.

According to the literature handed out by Mimms, at least 5 babies have been safely collected at baby drop-off locations since the program first began in 2019.
