Bob Connell talks with the Van Buren County Farm Family of the Year 2024, about their history in farming and how they got into the lamb farming.
Stacy and Lisa Kirk have been named the 2024 Van Buren County Farm Family of the Year. Operating a 295-acre farm, they raise 60 club lambs and 20 crossbred cattle. Their annual production sale, held on their farm and via their Club Lamb Facebook page, features club lambs and freezer lambs, while cattle are sold at local sale barns and to individuals. They shear their flock annually, using the wool in their garden for natural pest and heat control. The Kirks have also installed a spring-fed watering system for their livestock. They are active in the AR Sheep Council, with Lisa serving as a district representative. The couple has four children: Ashley, Dalton, Chase, and Emily.
