A 44 year long mystery murder has just been SOLVED. The decades old case was solved after DNA was linked to the suspect.
Kenneth Kundert, a 65-year-old resident of Clinton, Arkansas, was taken into custody in connection with the 1980 murder of Dorothy “Dottie” Marie Silzel in a small Washington city. The cold case had baffled investigators for decades until a recent breakthrough brought new hope to the victim’s family.
According to authorities, the key to cracking the case came from DNA evidence. In August 2024, the local police department announced that DNA retrieved from a discarded cigarette had matched Kundert’s genetic profile, leading to his arrest. This crucial piece of evidence was instrumental in solving the case, which had remained a mystery for over four decades.
