An investigation has resulted in felony theft charges against Chasity Ann Gault, the wife of Yell County Sheriff Nick Gault. Court records indicate that Gault, 49, was arrested after $39,982 was found missing from department accounts during a state audit.
The missing funds were identified as coming from three specific accounts: Virtual Justice, Restitution, and Paper Service. Judge Randy Wright has granted Gault the ability to bond out on her own recognizance. Further developments in the case are anticipated, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
