New Constitutional Amendment Proposed For Arkansas

They’re trying to add a constitutional amendment for Arkansas.

According to Conduit News,  there’s a movement underway add a Constitutional Amendment and an Initiated Act on our November ballot to protect and enshrine our state’s Freedom of Information Act into the Arkansas Constitution. If it works, it could mean that government information becomes a right to the public!

Attorney Reveals Details In Constitutional Push

Attorney and FOIA advocate Joey McCutchen has revealed details in the push:

“It’s really an exciting time. We got a great opportunity in Arkansas to literally have the most transparent government in the entire country.”

He goes on to say that it’s time to add transparency for records and meetings happening at a state government level:

“That’s the reason I’m fighting so hard is because this will create the strongest transparency laws in the country. Both open records and open meetings.”
