The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Batesville Montessori Elementary. The ceremony will be held on Friday, August 9, at 1:00 p.m. at 151 West Main Street in Batesville.

Batesville Montessori has expanded and is celebrating the grand opening of its elementary campus on Main Street, Batesville, in the Historic Adler Building. The Batesville Montessori Elementary program cultivates the growth of exceptional, intelligent, and empathetic individuals. Children between the ages of 5 and 9 use the skills acquired during their Primary years to actively engage with the world around them and gain meaningful experiences.
During this stage, students develop a genuine passion for learning and demonstrate proficiency in various areas, such as reasoning, socialization, and imagination. They acquire life skills through practical activities that enable them to thrive daily and engage in hands-on academic work.

Dr. Maria Montessori believed that children should ask questions about their purpose on this earth. In the Montessori elementary program, students are immersed in a comprehensive curriculum beyond traditional academics. Known as “cultural work” or “cosmic education,” this approach encourages students to explore their purpose in the world and ask meaningful questions. Alongside this academic growth, students also develop crucial social skills, learning to interact with their peers in a respectful and constructive manner, fostering meaningful relationships along the way.

All community supporters, chamber members, ambassadors, board members, and staff are invited to attend.
