One of the top manufacturers in Arkansas is closing its doors.

Arkansas automotive parts manufacturer Hino Motors is closing its doors according to a newly released press release, affecting more than 1,000 workers. Hino Motors announced it will close its Marion, Arkansas plant by mid-to-late 2027 and exit the parts manufacturing business.

The decision was made at a May 31 board meeting, citing profitability difficulties. The Marion plant employs 1,300 people and has been operational since 2006, producing auto parts for Central and South America.

Hino Motors Manufacturing President Davey Jung expressed gratitude for the contributions of the Arkansas team and the support from the City of Marion and the state of Arkansas. He stated that this difficult choice will allow the company to focus on truck operations in the United States.
