This weekend, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission invites you to participate in a free fishing derby at one of its four warm-water fish hatcheries on Saturday.
The free fishing weekend extends until Sunday, allowing you to fish without a fishing license or trout stamp. The hatcheries include the Andrew Hulsey Hatchery in Hot Springs, the Joe Hogan Hatchery in Lonoke, the C.B. Charlie Craig Hatchery in Centerton, and the William H. Donham Hatchery in Corning.
These facilities will be open to the public from 8 AM until noon. Some bait will be provided, but please bring your own fishing equipment. Visit their website to register for a derby before spots fill up.
