So you’re eager to get gardening. Is it too early to plant?
According to KARK, the answer depends on how far north in Arkansas you live. They have released a date map showing when you’re safe to plant depending on where you live.
If you live north near Mountain Home, you should likely wait until April 2nd until you start planting.
If you live further south near El Dorado, then late March is likely good enough.
Farmer Coop says: “Planting can begin as early as late February or early March.”
Clearly, there’s no “right” answer. Just use your location in the state to pick the best time you can.
