He’s been booked into jail again. As legal proceedings continue.

A man has been re-booked into jail in Faulkner County, Arkansas after a case involving an alleged theft of a vehicle in a Conway Walmart parking lot months ago.

The theft happened after a child allegedly left the keys to a mother’s car inside Walmart. The car was later reported stolen after someone allegedly drove away in it. The case is still ongoing.

Michael Monroe Earnest, a 47 year old from Prattville, Arkansas was booked by Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office on January 29th, 2025. The booking of Monroe comes amid the ongoing legal proceedings involving a car that was allegedly stolen from a Walmart parking lot back in September.

Case Ongoing Involving Walmart Parking Lot Theft

According to case files, a silver 2017 Ford Fusion was stolen from the Walmart parking lot on Skyline Drive on September 14, 2024. The vehicle’s keys were reportedly left unattended in the electronics section by a shopper.

Surveillance footage captured two men exiting the store and driving away in the stolen car. The video clearly showed one of the men picking up the keys before they left.

Police traced the suspects to the Phoenix Recovery Center, a local halfway house, after a loss prevention employee suggested their involvement. The center’s security staff confirmed the identities of the suspects, Michael Earnest and Dominique Devine, who were residents there.

Upon confronting Earnest and Devine, police learned the location of the stolen vehicle, which was found at the Village of Seven Mornings apartment complex. The suspects were arrested and charged with theft of property.

During the investigation, it was also discovered that $150 in cash, left in the car, had been taken and split between Earnest and Devine. Both admitted to portions of the crime after initially denying involvement.

The case is ongoing.

Please note: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
