We just received word of a tragic accident taking the life of a Batesville business owner.

Batesville business owner Joseph Bryant, 72, and  his wife Sharon Bryant, 73, passed away after their private plane crashed in Marianna, Arkansas. Arkansas State Police have confirmed their identities after the crash.

Deadly Arkansas Plane Crash

Joseph Bryant and his wife Sharon owned and operated Bryant’s Pharmacy in Batesville, Arkansas.

Witnesses say that the Bryants were travelling from Florida to Arkansas on a single-engine private plane. They were headed toward the airport in Batesville when the crash occurred.

Sadly, the cause of the crash has not yet been revealed.

The Mayor of Batesville Rick Elumbaugh released a statement after the crash:

“We are just extremely saddened and devastated. He was such a community-minded individual… It’s heartbreaking.”
