Court Dismisses Lawsuit Against Arkansas Governor After Filing Error Found

A big legal victory for Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

The Pulaski County Circuit Court dismissed attorney and blogger Matt Campbell’s lawsuit against Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders today.

Attorney General Tim Griffin commented on the outcome, citing the failure to serve process within the required time frame as the basis for the dismissal. Griffin expressed disappointment over the waste of taxpayer dollars and the burden on the judicial system caused by such cases:

“This was the proper outcome for this baseless case after Mr. Campbell failed to serve process within 120 days of filing the complaint—the second time this year he has had a case dismissed for failure to serve process. It’s unfortunate that cases like this waste taxpayer dollars and clog up our judicial system.”

Campbell’s lawsuit, alleging violations of Arkansas’s Freedom of Information Act, was filed last year. The Office of the Attorney General, representing Governor Sanders, successfully moved for dismissal in court today. The judge’s order granting the motion to dismiss can be accessed by clicking here.
