A guilty verdict has been reached.

According to Texarkana Gazette Ayden J. Merrell has been determined to be guilty by a court. He will now spend the rest of his days in prison.

12-Year-Old-Murderer Heads To Real Prison

Ayden J. Merrell was only 12 years old when he shot and killed a 21-year-old college student Christa Shockley working at a gas station. The shooting happened in 2017. The suspect was found hours later at public school.

Merrell has spent the last few years staying in juvenile detention due to his age. He then faced the possibility of adult prison once he reached age 21.

On Friday, a court decided that Merrell would be sentenced to life in prison on a charge of capital murder with a firearms enhancement. After 30 years, he could get parole.
