The Lyon College Music Department will host two exciting concerts this month, featuring its talented student ensembles and a newly formed regional group.

The Lyon College Symphonic Wind Ensemble, directed by John Christian, will perform on Sunday, October 26 at 2 p.m. in Sloan Auditorium of the Brown Fine Arts Building, 2300 Highland Road, Batesville. The ensemble will present a diverse repertoire of wind compositions.

In addition, the Lyon College Chamber Choir, led by new director Dr. Bethany Neese, will showcase choral selections highlighting the students’ vocal artistry.

On Monday, October 27 at 7 p.m., the Diamond Wind Ensemble, a newly formed regional group featuring Lyon College musicians alongside local performers, will perform a mix of classic and contemporary wind band literature.

“Music has the power to uplift, evoke memories, and bring people together,” said Dr. Neese, director of vocal activities. “We’re excited to share performances that celebrate our students’ hard work, faculty artistry, and the vibrant musical life of our community.”

Both concerts are free and open to the public, offering a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy high-quality live music.
