Acclaimed author John Hornor Jacobs will host a public reading on Tuesday, October 22, at 7 PM in the Bevens Music Room at Lyon College. Following the reading, Jacobs will receive the Leila Lenore Heasley Prize for Fiction, awarded annually to a distinguished writer.
A 1994 Lyon alumnus, Jacobs is known for his genre-bending works, including “Southern Gods,” which was a Bram Stoker Award finalist. The event is free and open to the public, with no reservations required. Dr. Terrell Tebbetts praised Jacobs for his unique storytelling style, blending Southern Gothic, horror, and fantasy.
