Southside School Adjusts Orientation and Open House Plans Due to Ongoing Construction

As construction continues across campus, school officials have announced important updates to the upcoming Orientation and Open House events to help ease traffic and parking concerns. In an effort to improve logistics, this year’s schedule will feature staggered times and designated locations for each grade level.

Orientation for students entering 4th, 7th, and 10th grades will take place on Wednesday, August 7, 2025, with events separated by students’ last names.

• 4th Grade Orientation will be held in the Middle School Cafeteria.

  • Last names A–L: 5:30 PM

  • Last names M–Z: 6:30 PM

• 7th Grade Orientation will be held in the Junior High Media Center.

  • Last names A–L: 5:30 PM

  • Last names M–Z: 6:30 PM

• 10th Grade Orientation will be held in the High School Auditorium.

  • Last names A–L: 5:30 PM

  • Last names M–Z: 6:30 PM

Open House for all other grades is scheduled for Monday, August 12, 2025. Families are encouraged to arrive at their designated times to allow for a smoother experience navigating campus.

• Preschool (All Classes): 4:30–6:30 PM

• Elementary (Grades K–3):

  • Last names A–L: 5:00–6:00 PM

  • Last names M–Z: 6:00–7:00 PM

• Middle School (Grades 5–6): 5:30–7:30 PM

• Junior High (Grades 8–9): 6:00–8:00 PM

• High School (Grades 11–12): 6:30–8:30 PM

School officials noted that while construction has presented some challenges, the upgrades will ultimately benefit students and staff in the long run. The administration asks for patience and cooperation from families during these transitional events.

“We are excited to welcome everyone back and appreciate the community’s support as we continue improving our facilities,” said a school spokesperson. “These changes are temporary but necessary to ensure a safe and organized start to the school year.”
