A flag just caused major controversy in Arkansas after it was displayed at the Arkansas Veteran Affairs buildings.
According to KARK, veterans are complaining because the organization is flying “pride flags” at the buildings. A lawmaker says his office has received multiple complaints over the politically charged flag as well.
Pride Flag Display Condemned As Political Display By Veterans
U.S. House Rep. Bruce Westerman was one of the first to respond the event. He says his office has received multiple complaints from veterans upset about “a political message” in the form of the flags.
Westerman says this sets a dangerous precedent:
“When my veterans get upset. I get upset. It [the VA] should always be apolitical. It’s not a place to voice your political moves.”
