Some Arkansas services could get cut. Dozens of them.

According to Arkansas Advocate, as lawmakers struggle to reach a deal to pass a budget for Arkansas’ Game and Fish Commission, dozens of services that residents receive could be cancelled. The deadline for lawmakers is July 1st.

Arkansas Deadline For Services Revealed

A few services the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission provide such as getting a fishing permit, getting a squirl hunting permit, this season, or earning a boating license are all at risk.

Even worse, these benefits are at risk of being cut ahead of the patriotic holidays.

In fact, state officials are even preparing “a laundry list” of services to show just how many services could get affected if the Game and Fish doesn’t get a budget soon.

The good news is that Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is being praised for helping work with the state house and senate leadership to make sure a solution is found.

According to Austin Booth, the commission’s director:

“I think the possibility of a lapse in appropriations actually happening is incredibly unlikely. I’ve been really grateful to the governor’s office and the House and Senate leadership to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

Only time will tell if a solution is found.
