The governor is not happy!

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders just condemned a new reality television “social experiment” in Arkansas. A reality TV show has just launched at a local Arkansas jail, turning inmates into stars with free reign during their incarceration.

Governor Slams Social Experiment In Jail

Netflix is quietly producing a new reality television show out of Arkansas called “Unlocked: A Jail Experiment.”

It’s a “free for all” show that shows the aftermath of what happens after Pulaski County Sheriff Eric Higgins announces his plan to remove locks and officers to let the prisoners “be a community.”

Governor Sarah Sanders calls the decision “reckless,” saying:

“Turning our prisons into a free-for-all all reality show is dangerous and insulting to our brave law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to apprehend violent criminals. This is a reckless decision by the Pulaski County Sheriff and highlights the need for our new state prison to keep repeat violent offenders off our streets and our communities safe.”

You can watch the trailer for the new Netflix show below:

Pulaski County’s Crime Problem

Going softer on convicted criminals is probably the last thing Pulaski County needs.

According to Best Practices, Pulaski County sees to have a crime epidemic.

“The violent crime rate in the area is 32.5, significantly higher than the national average of 22.7. Similarly, the property crime rate in Pulaski County is 57.5, much higher than the United States average of 35.4.”

Maybe giving prisoners free reign in jail is the last thing they need. But that’s just a guess.
