A tragic accident has left a man dead after he tried to recover a dead deer from the road.
Nelson Valdez, a 42-year-old Fayetteville, Arkansas native, was fatally struck by a vehicle early on October 10th. The incident occurred as Valdez was clearing a deceased deer from North Crossover Road.
Man Dies While Trying To Recover Dead Deer
At around midnight, a 2014 Subaru traveling southbound on the same road collided with Valdez, who was not visible to the driver in the darkness. Police reports confirm the accident took place under low visibility conditions typical of nighttime.
Authorities have notified Valdez’s next of kin following the accident. The driver of the Subaru was reportedly not injured in the collision.
