During a routine traffic stop, Searcy Police Department officials arrested Anthony James of Bald Knob, Arkansas. They discovered drugs in his car. After getting a search warrant for his home, they found weapons, drugs, and managed to get him to confess to setting multiple fires as an arsonist.

Bald Knob Arsonist Confesses After Arrest
On September 10th, 2024, a routine traffic stop by the Searcy Police Department escalated into a significant drug and weapons seizure. During the stop, officers arrested James, a known felon, on an outstanding warrant, and subsequently discovered marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle.
Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at James’ residence in Bald Knob, AR, revealing a cache of illegal substances and firearms. The residence yielded an AR-15 rifle, three handguns, various drugs including oxycodone, psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, and marijuana, along with paraphernalia.
James, during a later interview, confessed to involvement in two arsons, leading to charges that include arson, criminal conspiracy, and multiple counts related to drug possession and firearms. The charges range from class Y felonies for simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms to class C felonies for maintaining a drug premises.
This operation was a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, highlighting the ongoing battle against drug-related crimes in the region. The case continues under investigation, with all suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
