Lyon College will make history on Saturday, Sept. 13, when the Scots football team plays its first game at Bad Boy Mowers Stadium on the Batesville campus. Kickoff against the Arkansas Baptist College Buffaloes is set for 4:30 p.m.

“This is a historic milestone for Lyon College,” said President Dr. Melissa Taverner. “Bad Boy Mowers Stadium will not only elevate our football program but also bring students, alumni and the community together.”
The first phase of the new facility includes a regulation-size field, press box, seating for 600 fans, a digital scoreboard and modern amenities.
Athletics Director Kevin Jenkins called the project “a game-changer” for recruiting and retaining student-athletes.
The stadium was made possible through community and corporate support. Bad Boy Mowers secured naming rights, Atlas Asphalt/White River Materials named the field, and additional support came from the Bank of Cave City, First Community Bank and Merchants and Planters Bank.
Head Coach Chris Douglas said the new complex represents the college’s commitment to its athletes, while Interim Vice President for Advancement Gina Garrett praised donors for making the project a reality. Fundraising continues for future phases.
