Arkansas State University-Beebe has been named one of 15 new colleges nationwide selected to join Year 7 of the Metallica Scholars Initiative, supported by a $75,000 grant from the band’s foundation All Within My Hands.
The funding will provide 25 student scholarships and help purchase a Lucas Nuelle CarTrain hybrid/electric vehicle trainer, expanding hands-on learning in electric and hybrid vehicle diagnostics.
Chancellor Dr. Jennifer Methvin said the grant not only supports scholarships but positions ASU-Beebe as central Arkansas’ hub for electric vehicle technician training.
The Metallica Scholars Initiative now spans 75 schools across all 50 states, helping nearly 10,000 students gain workforce skills since its launch in 2019.
