Justin William Lemaster, 41, from Hot Springs National Park, died in the incident. He was driving a 2015 GMC Terrain westbound on the highway.

The crash involved two vehicles: Lemaster’s GMC Terrain and a 2023 Chevy Equinox. The Equinox was traveling eastbound when the collision occurred.

According to Arkansas State Police, Lemaster’s vehicle veered into the opposite lane and turn lane. It then side-swiped the driver’s side of the Chevy Equinox.

After the impact, Lemaster’s GMC Terrain left the roadway and struck trees. The vehicle soon burst into flames, escalating the severity of the crash.

Passersby heroically pulled Lemaster from the burning wreckage. They attempted CPR, but he could not be saved.

Details about the Equinox driver or additional injuries remain unreleased. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the full story.
