A giant brush fire erupted near Harrison, Arkansas involving over 5 acres. It happened on Friday, January 25th.
The Valley Springs Fire Department of Harrison, Arkansas was called to the scene of a spreading brush fire that was threatening local structures. They report 5 to 6 acres was consumed by flames. You can view photographs of the aftermath below.
Spreading Arkansas Fire Burned Acres Before Firefighters Stepped In
High winds were pushing the fire, which had consumed 5-6 acres, toward several threatened structures.
Assistance was called from Harmon and Western Grove Fire Departments, bringing in additional brush trucks and tankers.
Thankfully, the fire was under control within 15 minutes, with no injuries or damage to buildings reported.
Units stayed on scene for an extra 45 minutes to ensure all hotspots were extinguished, expressing gratitude to the mutual aid departments.
This is the kind of work firefighters do to keep the public safe.
