They found a straw. It led to a woman’s arrest inside the jail.
Amanda Leigh Bentley, 33, was arrested in Izard County Sheriff’s Office after jail staff discovered drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine during her booking process on December 10, 2024. You can view her mugshot below.
Woman Was Arrested After Straw Found At Jail
According to the documents provided in the case, Bentley was found with a rubber straw suspected of being used for drug inhalation, which tested positive for methamphetamine.
Later, as Bentley was escorted to the bathroom, she was observed attempting to conceal a baggie, which also tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing less than 2 grams.
Investigator Geoffrey Watts of the Izard County Sheriff’s Office handled the evidence, which is slated for further testing at the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory.
Bentley faces charges of introducing prohibited articles into a correctional facility, a class “B” felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a class “D” felony.
The arrest warrant was issued on December 13, 2024, following a judicial finding of probable cause.
