Walmart has announced plans to install advanced automation technology at its regional distribution center in Searcy as part of a broader renovation initiative affecting all 42 of its distribution centers. Once completed, the upgraded facility will be capable of shipping nearly twice the number of cases compared to traditional centers. The project will be executed in phases over several years. Walmart’s Searcy Distribution Center has been a cornerstone of the community for over 30 years, supporting the supply chain for more than 4,600 stores. In Arkansas, Walmart operates eight distribution centers, 131 retail stores, and employs 55,660 associates as of fiscal year 2025.
