Arkansas Deputy and Inmates Injured in Highway Accident; Wife Shares Update on Social Media
At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, a White County Deputy, identified as Kevin Smith, was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 67/167 near the 54-mile marker, according to Arkansas State Police Public Information Specialist Nick Genty. Deputy Smith was transporting three inmates from White County at the time of the accident.
The injuries sustained by Deputy Smith were serious but not life-threatening. The three inmates were also injured but are expected to recover. The Arkansas State Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
