Sheriff Stephens reported that on Monday, Deputy Cody Brit was patrolling Batesville Boulevard when he spotted a gold Cadillac with a black top matching the description of a vehicle possibly stolen from Kentucky. Deputy Brit stopped the car and checked the license plate, confirming it was indeed stolen.

A high-risk traffic stop was carried out, and the driver, identified as Joshua Samis, was taken into custody. The vehicle was inventoried and secured, with a hold placed on it. The Louisville Metro Police Department confirmed the car was stolen.

The incident took place in the parking lot of the Batesville radio station, The Bull 105.7. It was later discovered that the vehicle’s owner had given it to her daughter, who allowed her boyfriend, Joshua Samis, to drive it. As a result, the charge was changed to unauthorized use of a vehicle. Samis is scheduled to appear in court on September 4th.
