An amazing gift to our community!

Bill Roussel, a Korean War Veteran, has donated volumes entitled Young Heroes Who Changed Korean History to the Searcy Public Library and the White County Regional Library System.  These books were given to Mr. Roussel from the government of South Korea as a gift for his service to their country.

Roussel served for fifteen months in Korea and was deployed there in 1950 from his station in Japan.  He was promoted to Sergeant First Class before he came back to civilian life.  The volumes will be in the history section of the library so that those interested in discovering more information about the Korean War, which was waged from 1950-1954, may be checked out.  Pictured with Mr. Roussel is his daughter Pamela Roussel-Lowery.
