Bob Connell, the owner of Arkansas Radio, tells how he got started in the radio business. The following interview was recorded by Arkansas Broadcaster Stories.
An Interview With Bob Connell
For those of you who don’t know, Bob Connell is the ex-president of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association and currently serves on the board of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association and serves as a Commissioner of the State Parks, Recreation & Travel Commission.
In this interview, Connell tells how his career began in high school many years ago at KZIG in Cave City. He tells about the influences on his career and the importance of focusing on covering weather events on the radio for his loyal listeners.
Bob Connell is now the successful owner of a network of radio stations across Arkansas, including KWCK 99.9, KFFB 106.1, COOL 104.7, Cowboy 100.7, and The Bull 105.7. His stations reach a large portion of the state of Arkansas with an extremely loyal audience.
