SUMMARY:Batesville Area Radio Club Hosting ARRL Field Day Event in Concord June 27
DESCRIPTION:Batesville Area Radio Club will host its annual ARRL Field Day event on Saturday\, June 27\, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Concord City Park located at 101 Alpine in Concord. \n \nThe free family-friendly event will give residents an opportunity to learn about the world of amateur radio and experience live radio communications firsthand. Organizers say attendees will even have the opportunity to get on the air themselves and see how amateur radio operators communicate during emergencies\, community events\, and everyday operations. \nARRL Field Day is the largest annual amateur radio event in the United States and Canada\, bringing together more than 31\,000 amateur radio operators\, also known as “hams\,” each year during the fourth weekend of June. The 2026 theme is “Amateur Radio: A National Resource\,” highlighting how wireless communications connect people across long distances and serve communities during emergencies. \nThe event is often described as part picnic\, part campout\, part emergency preparedness exercise\, and part informal competition. Amateur radio operators use the event to practice emergency communication skills that can become critical when traditional communication systems fail during disasters and emergencies. \nField Day also serves as a hands-on learning opportunity for students and families interested in science\, technology\, engineering\, and mathematics\, commonly known as STEM education. Participants can learn how radio technology works and discover how amateur radio continues to inspire future technical leaders. \nARRL\, The National Association for Amateur Radio\, has more than 137\,000 members nationwide and promotes the art\, science\, and public service benefits of amateur radio communications. \nThe event is open to all ages and will feature demonstrations and educational opportunities provided by local amateur radio enthusiasts from the Batesville Area Radio Club. \nFor additional information about the event\, contact Lynn Williams at (870) 847-1024 or email k5brc.secretary@gmail.com. \nHAVE INFORMATION YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE with the ArkansasRadio.com radio stations submit your event at https://arkansasradio.com/submit-event/
