DESCRIPTION:Get ready to rev your engines and rock out for a good cause! The 2nd Annual Rock-2-Roll Skatepark Benefit Car Show and Music Festival is set for Saturday\, October 25th at Greers Ferry City Park\, located on Park Lane in Greers Ferry. \n \nHosted by Skate the Lake\, a local nonprofit organization\, the event raises funds to help build the Greers Ferry Skatepark. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.\, gates open at 10 a.m.\, and car show judging starts at 12:30 p.m.\, with awards announced at 1:30 p.m. \nThe fun continues with live music from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.\, featuring performances by Opean Gray\, LNW\, Dylan Gray\, Ander Dunn & Co.\, and The Chris Brand. Admission is $5\, and the event will also feature vendors\, food trucks\, and a car show\, plus activities for kids. \nAttendees are encouraged to bring a chair and enjoy a full day of music\, motors\, and community fun. SUMMARY:Lyon College Music Ensembles to Perform in October Concerts
DESCRIPTION:The Lyon College Music Department will host two exciting concerts this month\, featuring its talented student ensembles and a newly formed regional group. \nThe Lyon College Symphonic Wind Ensemble\, directed by John Christian\, will perform on Sunday\, October 26 at 2 p.m. in Sloan Auditorium of the Brown Fine Arts Building\, 2300 Highland Road\, Batesville. The ensemble will present a diverse repertoire of wind compositions. \n \nIn addition\, the Lyon College Chamber Choir\, led by new director Dr. Bethany Neese\, will showcase choral selections highlighting the students’ vocal artistry. \nOn Monday\, October 27 at 7 p.m.\, the Diamond Wind Ensemble\, a newly formed regional group featuring Lyon College musicians alongside local performers\, will perform a mix of classic and contemporary wind band literature. \n“Music has the power to uplift\, evoke memories\, and bring people together\,” said Dr. Neese\, director of vocal activities. “We’re excited to share performances that celebrate our students’ hard work\, faculty artistry\, and the vibrant musical life of our community.” \nBoth concerts are free and open to the public\, offering a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy high-quality live music. \nFor more information about choral programs\, contact Dr. Bethany Neese at Bethany.Neese@Lyon.edu.
