The Arkansas Scottish Festival\, now in its 44th year\, began in 1979 to honor the Scottish heritage of the college’s Presbyterian founders and has since grown into one of the premier Scottish heritage festivals in the United States\, attracting over 5\,500 attendees and generating an estimated $1.2 million for Independence County. The weekend will feature a variety of events\, including historical reenactments\, Highland athletics\, Scottish clan reunions\, pipe band exhibitions\, and homecoming activities like tailgating and alumni reunions. General admission to the festival is free\, though some events require separate registration.
