Arkansas State Police Seize Over 1,900 Pounds of Illegal Drugs in Lonoke County Traffic Stop

Arkansas State Police say more than 1,900 pounds of illegal drugs were seized during a Monday morning traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Lonoke County. Troopers pulled over a tractor-trailer near the 173-mile marker eastbound around 10:30 a.m. for a traffic violation.

A search of the trailer uncovered four pallets of cardboard boxes holding 960 pounds of illegal marijuana, 1,000 pounds of THC products, and 27 pounds of synthetic marijuana. Troopers also recovered a firearm inside the sleeper cab.

The driver, Tobias Xavier Taylor, 37, of Richmond, Virginia, was arrested and taken to the Lonoke County Detention Center. Taylor faces several felony charges, including Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Unauthorized Use of Another Person’s Property to Facilitate Certain Crimes, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Arkansas State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
