The Bald Knob Trap Team Red squad secured the 2025 Youth Shooting Sports Senior State Championship with a near-flawless final round, hitting 121 out of 125 targets to edge out Jonesboro Trap Red. Held at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex, the team delivered under pressure, closing their last 25 shots without a miss.
Coach Aaron Throckmorton praised the team’s mental strength and consistency, calling the win “exhilarating” and “exhausting.” The squad, consisting of Michael McCarty, Robert McChristian, Stephen Anselmi, Jameson Glaze, and Payton King, previously won a preview tournament with 238 out of 250 targets.
Bald Knob defeated Texarkana Red 116–115 in the semifinals, while Jonesboro bested Westside Red. Bald Knob received $7,500 in scholarships; Jonesboro and Texarkana took $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
Meanwhile, Isaac Hensley of Marmaduke won the Champion of Champions individual title after a perfect regional performance.
In the Junior Division, Sheridan upset Nashville Orange 115–113 to win the title.
The Bald Knob team now sets its sights on the AIM ATA state championship in June.
