A suicide threat was reportedly made in Searcy, Arkansas.

On February 21st, around midnight, Searcy Police Department say police were called to Jenny Lynne Dr. after reports of a disturbance. Jacob Bridges, a 30-year-old from Searcy, AR, was found inside a vehicle threatening to kill himself or force officers to shoot him.

Dramatic Scene Unfolds In Searcy

The Searcy Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT) quickly arrived on the scene. Bridges exited his vehicle but refused to follow police commands.

SRT used less lethal force as Bridges retreated back into his vehicle. He then began fleeing from officers, sparking a pursuit.

Officers chased Bridges until he crashed near Elm St. and Chrisp. He was taken into custody after the wreck.

Bridges was transported to Unity Health ER for treatment before being booked into White County Jail. He faces charges of Felony Fleeing, Violation of a No Contact Order, and 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief.

The incident remains under investigation. Bridges is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
