On Thursday night, around 11 p.m., Searcy officers were dispatched to AR Highway 16 near its intersection with AR Highway 13 for a single-vehicle crash.
Through the investigation, officers determined Kayla Allison, 24, of Des Arc, was traveling northbound on AR Highway 16 in a 2016 Nissan Versa when she veered off the roadway, crossing all lanes of traffic and traveling into a nearby field, colliding with a tree.
Allison and her 3-year-old daughter, a passenger in the vehicle, were transported to Unity Health Emergency Room by North Star EMS for treatment of injuries. The 3-year-old was eventually transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for her injuries.
The 3-year-old was expected to be released soon at the time of this press release.
Evidence discovered at the scene of the crash led officers to investigate Allison for DWI. The Criminal Investigation Division is assisting with the investigation. A case file will be sent to the Prosecuting Attorney for charges, which could include but are not limited to DWI First Offense, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
This case is under investigation. All suspect(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
