Sheila Renee Colb was arrested on March 11th.
In Faulkner County, Arkansas, Sheila Renee Colb, 56, faces charges of criminal attempt to commit capital murder after intentionally crashing her vehicle into the Holland Fire Station on March 11, 2025. Authorities say she aimed to kill herself and her passenger, Mark Anthony Couch, to protect her family. You can view her photograph released by Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office.
Car Crash In Arkansas Was Reportedly Intentional
According to case files, the incident occurred around 12:40 a.m., when Colb drove into the station at approximately 45 mph, injuring Couch, who was later hospitalized. Colb admitted to deputies she accelerated without braking, hoping to “take us both out” after Couch allegedly threatened her and her family.
According to the affidavit, Colb claimed Couch, her boyfriend since December 2024, threatened to slit her throat with a box knife during an argument while buying cigarettes. However, Couch denied these allegations, stating
Colb was suicidal and crashed after he mentioned leaving her.
Investigators found a box knife on Colb, not Couch, and her Life360 app contradicted parts of her story about their route. Both were taken to the Criminal Investigation Division, where Colb confessed to targeting the fire station to kill them both.
The crash caused over $40,000 in damage to the fire station, leading to an additional charge of first-degree criminal mischief against Colb. The station remains partially functional, awaiting an insurance assessment.
Colb and Couch are currently in custody at Faulkner County Detention Center Unit 2, awaiting their first court appearance. A judge found probable cause for Colb’s arrest on March 17, 2025, with a 60-day review set for the charges.
Please note: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
