Joshua Wayne Brown has been charged in White County, Arkansas, for delivering a counterfeit substance. He was arrested after an alleged incident occurred on December 16, 2024, involving a substance purported to be methamphetamine.
Man Arrested In White County After Informant Tipped Off Police
According to case files, the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force conducted a controlled purchase at Brown’s residence on Cedar Corner Road in Judsonia. A confidential source bought a white clumpy substance from Brown for $80, which later tested inconclusive for methamphetamine.
Brown, a 38-year-old resident, faces a Class C felony charge under Arkansas law. The charge stems from violating ACA § 5-64-442(b)(1) for delivering a counterfeit Schedule II controlled substance.
During a parole visit on December 17, 2024, agents found a similar clumpy substance at Brown’s home. Brown admitted to selling the substance, claiming it was a food item he found in a store bag.
The confidential source identified Brown in a photo lineup at Searcy Police Department. The source believed they were purchasing methamphetamine during the controlled buy.
Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Reed McCoy filed the charges in the Circuit Court of White County. Brown’s prior convictions for drug-related offenses were noted in the affidavit.
The investigation by the 17th Central Arkansas Drug Task Force remains ongoing. Brown’s case will proceed as authorities continue to address drug-related crimes in the region.
