Their chief command vehicle and an Arkansas Highway Patrol unit were struck by another vehicle while assisting with a jackknifed tractor trailer.

The collision occurred as emergency crews worked at the scene, according to the department. The driver’s actions resulted in one bystander and one law enforcement officer being hospitalized with injuries.
