An emergency helicopter was called in to an Arkansas woods fire…

The North Little Rock Fire Department highlighted a large woods fire near the Batesville Pike area of Camp Robinson, tackled by the Camp Robinson Fire Department on Friday. North Little Rock’s Battalion 8, Engine 8, Brush 8, along with Pulaski County OEM, NLRPD, and Sherwood Fire Department, responded to assist. You can view photographs below.

Multiple Departments Respond

Batesville Pike is located near Camp Joseph T. Robinson, a 32,000-acre military base in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The base is home to the Arkansas National Guard and other armed forces.

The fire grew too large for conventional methods, prompting extraordinary action from the 77th Combat Aviation Brigade of the Arkansas National Guard. These “helicopter heroes” deployed their water supply, quickly bringing the blaze to a manageable state.

The North Little Rock Fire Department credited the Air Guard as the real MVPs, humbly admitting they were outdone by the aerial support. Their swift intervention made a significant difference in controlling the fire.

Hats off to the dedicated professionals of the Arkansas National Guard for their high-flying firefighting efforts. The collaboration with local fire departments showcased teamwork at its best.

The North Little Rock Fire Department expressed honor in working alongside such committed responders.
