Multiple Fire Departments Respond to Structure Fire in Huntsville
At 11:45 a.m. on March 9th, Huntsville Fire Department (HFD), Smyrna Fire Department, Bohannan Mountain Fire Dept, and Witter-Aurora Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire off Lee Ave behind The Madison County Record. The vacant building was 75% engulfed, with flames spreading to nearby brush and sparking spot fires across the street. You can view photos below, provided by the fire department.
Even worse, local sources report that that police are investigating the situation as a possible act of arson. It might be intentional.
House Bursts Into Flames In Arkansas, Spreading Across The Street
Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the blaze within the structure’s foundation. They extinguished it from the outside as most of the interior floor had already collapsed.
No injuries were reported from the initial fire. The cause remains under investigation.
While clearing the scene, HFD and Smyrna were called at 2:08 p.m. to a brush fire started by a rubbish fire. It had spread to neighboring properties, threatening structures.
Crews managed the second incident without any reported injuries. The rapid response prevented further damage.
Madison County EMS provided medical standby throughout both incidents. Huntsville Arkansas Police Department and Madison County Sheriff’s Office assisted with scene safety.
Fire officials expressed gratitude to all supporting agencies. Their teamwork ensured no lives were lost.
