He’s only 19. He was arrested for allegedly having a defaced firearm in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Quentin Dasan Lewis, a 19-year-old from Little Rock, was arrested on March 12, 2025. The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office booked him at 10:02 p.m., according to their records.

Defaced Firearm Charge And What It Means

Lewis faces a single charge of possession of a defaced firearm. This refers to owning a gun with its serial number or identification mark altered or removed.

Defacing a firearm’s serial number is illegal. It’s often used to prevent tracing by law enforcement.

Arkansas law classifies possession of a defaced firearm as a Class D felony. Penalties can include up to six years in prison and fines, per Arkansas Code § 5-73-107.

The arrest was logged under booking number 202500866. No further details have been released to the public at this time.

Lewis remains in custody as of the latest update.

Surge In “Ghost Guns” Across America

There isn’t a precise national statistic specifically isolating the percentage of crimes involving defaced firearms in the most recent data. However, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) provides insight in its 2023 National Firearms Commerce and Trafficking Assessment (NFCTA), Volume II.
It notes that between 2017 and 2021, the ATF traced over 1.3 million crime guns, and while it doesn’t break out defaced firearms as a standalone category, it highlights that unserialized “ghost guns”—which are inherently
defaced or lack serial numbers—surged in recovery, increasing by 1,083% from 1,629 in 2017 to 19,273 in 2021.
This suggests a growing subset of crimes involve firearms where serial numbers are absent or altered, though exact figures for all defaced firearms (including those originally serialized but later modified) aren’t specified.
Please note: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
