Multiple car break-ins have been reported in Paris, Arkansas recently.

Now local law enforcement say they have noticed a pattern…

The Paris Police Department has announced finding a pattern in the car break-ins in the area. Almost all of the incidents involved vehicles left unlocked. All the stolen vehicles were stolen because the keys were left inside. They are begging the public to not put themselves at risk.

Don’t Leave Your Keys In Your Car

According to Paris Police, cars were left unlocked in nearly every case:

“In almost every one of these cases the vehicles that were entered into were left unlocked. In every case in which vehicles were stolen the vehicles were left unlocked with the keys in them.”

Police emphasize the simplicity of the crimes: suspects are merely checking if car doors are unlocked. No forced entry has been reported, highlighting the opportunistic nature of these thefts.

Authorities urge residents to secure their vehicles nightly. “Lock your vehicles and remove the keys,” the police stated, stressing the ease with which these crimes could be prevented.

The suspects do not attempt to break into locked cars, choosing instead to move on to the next easy target. The Paris Police Department reiterates its call to action: “Lock your vehicles at night.”

Residents are thanked for their cooperation in this matter, aiming to reduce vehicle-related crimes in Paris.
